The airport, large hotels and banks are the most costly places to change foreign money, with local shopping malls proving cheaper.
Krabi is well-known for being an area of outstanding natural beauty. Besides the island or beach, one place that should make your must-see list is the Thung Teao Forest Natural Park. A place where a large hot spring emerald pool is located.
It’s warm all year ’round, but the two periods of April-May and September-October are the hottest. The September-October period is also the wettest. The best time to visit Krabi is during the cool monsoon season, from November though March, when it isn’t so humid, and the cool breezes keep things comfortable.
Plenteous of delicious and yummy street food in Krabi, Thailand. You must never be afraid to try it all such as som tam: green papaya salad is not only yummy but also quite healthy. It goes well with grilled chicken on a skewer as well as sticky rice, khao man kai: Thai version of Hainanese chicken rice is basically fragrant rice cooked in rich broth and topped with juicy and tender chicken. It’s common to enjoy it with fresh salad, a spicy dip and a bowl of clear soup, etc.
Travel agents will of course sell a 3 night stay in Krabi as “3 nights / 4 days” but in reality, flight times mean you will only get 2 clear days in which to do activities. We recommend spending a minimum of 4 days in Krabi to experience the best it has to offer.
Emerald Pool: surrounded by forest that is filled with rare birds. Follow the nature trails through the forest and arrive at the Emerald Pool, where you can relax and swim in this natural mineral water pond.
Railay Beach: The beaches of Krabi have a lot to offer. Check out the unique peninsula of Railay – climb one of the limestone cliffs that line the beach, swim in the turquoise water, etc.
If you are looking for a well-developed place with all the facilities then Phuket is the place to be. On the other hand, if you want to enjoy nature and laze around in the natural setting then Krabi is the best choice.
