DAY 1: ARRIVAL PARO – THIMPHU (50 Kms, 1.5-2 Hrs) (No Meal)

Arrive at Paro International Airport and be welcomed by our team before experiencing one of the world's most stunning mountain landings. Begin your Bhutan journey with a scenic drive to Thimphu, the vibrant capital nestled in the Himalayan foothills. On the way, stop at Chuzom—the confluence of two rivers adorned with shrines in Bhutanese, Nepali, and Tibetan styles—and visit Tamchog Lhakhang, a historic 14th-century temple.

Upon reaching Thimphu, explore Buddha Point (Kuensel Phodrang), which boasts one of the world's largest Buddha statues overlooking the valley, and visit Tashichho Dzong, the iconic fortress-monastery and seat of Bhutan's royalty. DAY 2: THIMPHU SIGHTSEEING (B, D)

Immerse yourself in the unique charm of Thimphu, a city where tradition guides daily life. Visit sacred sites like the Durga/Shiv Temple, enjoy panoramic views from Buddha Point and Coronation Park, and encounter Bhutan’s national animal, the takin, at the Takin Preserve. Experience local spirituality at the Memorial Chorten, a place of daily prayer and devotion. Discover the architectural beauty of Thimphu Dzong, and step into Bhutanese culture at Simply Bhutan—a living museum offering archery, traditional attire, and hands-on experiences with local crafts (closed Tuesdays). Enjoy dinner and a comfortable overnight at your Thimphu hotel.

DAY 3: THIMPHU – PUNAKHA (75 Kms, 3 Hrs) (B, D)

After breakfast, set out from Thimphu and visit Simtokha Dzong, Bhutan’s oldest fortress, renowned for its historic significance and spiritual teachings. Journey over the breathtaking Dochula Pass (3,100m), where—on a clear day—you’ll take in panoramic views of the Himalayan peaks and admire the 108 memorial chortens. Descend into the lush Punakha Valley, visiting Chhimi Lhakhang, the famous "Fertility Temple," blessed by the legendary Divine Madman. Explore Punakha Dzong, celebrated as Bhutan’s most stunning fortress, beautifully situated at the confluence of two rivers. Stroll across the iconic Punakha Suspension Bridge, draped in colorful prayer flags. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay in Punakha.

 

DAY 4: PUNAKHA – PARO (125 Kms, 4-5 Hrs) (B, D

After breakfast, wind your way back across the mountains to Paro, Bhutan's most picturesque valley. Explore the National Museum of Bhutan (Ta Dzong), a circular watchtower-turned-museum holding centuries of art, and Rinpung Dzong, built in 1646 and still functioning as both a monastery and government seat today. Cross the Nya Mey Zam Bridge — "the bridge with no fish" — and wander through Paro town at your own pace. Dinner and overnight stay at Paro.

DAY 5: PARO – TAKTSANG MONASTERY EXCURSION (B, D)

Today is the highlight of your journey: the trek to Taktsang Monastery, the legendary "Tiger's Nest." Clinging to a sheer cliff face 900m above the valley floor, this is the site where Guru Rinpoche is said to have flown in on the back of a tigress in the 8th century and meditated for three years, three months, three weeks, three days, and three hours — bringing Buddhism to Bhutan. The 2-3 hour uphill hike is genuinely challenging, but the view from the monastery courtyard is one you'll remember for life. Optional horse ride available to the viewpoint (OWN EXPENSES). Evening free to relax and reflect. Dinner and overnight stay at Paro.

DAY 6: PARO – DEPARTURE (B)

After breakfast, check out of your hotel and transfer to Paro International.
