Kathmandu - Nagarkot – Sankhu-Kathmandu

DAY 01: Arrival Nepal Kathmandu
Upon arrival warm welcome to our guests, transfer to hotel. After reach hotel free of the day.

DAY 02: Nepal Kathmandu
After breakfast drive toBoudhanath Stupa. The 36-meter-high stupa of Bouddhanath is one of the largest stupas in South Asia. Great Stupa of Boudhanath (UNESCO World heritage site in 1979) in the Kathmandu valley, a vast dome-shaped monument representing the Mind of the Buddha, is the primary pilgrimage destination for Tantric Buddhists of the Himalayas and a major draw for Tibetan Buddhists from all over the planet. Then visit to Pashupatinath temple. (UNESCO World heritage site in 1979) Pashupatinath temple is one of the holiest pilgrimage destinations for all the Hindus of the world. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, one of the trinity and the guardian (patron) deity of Nepal. This is one of the oldest temples, situated on the banks of the Holy Bagmati River. It is double – roofed golden temple with four triple silver doorways. Pashupatinath covers an area of 281 hectares, which is one of the biggest temple complexes in Nepal. Our next destination is Bhaktapur. Sightseeing tour of the most important sites of Bhaktapur city. UNESCO (World heritage site in 1979) This city is known as the city of devotees. Bhaktapur Durbar Square in the center of Bhaktapur city. Showcasing architecture that dates back to the Malla period, the square is the most charming, with wide open spaces that are off limits to vehicular traffic. In Bhaktapur you will see some of the finest medieval arts of Nepal. Of particular interest are: the Golden Gate, Fifty-five Windows and the beautiful statue of King Bhupatindra Malla mounted on a giant stone pillar. You will see here Lion Gate, Golden Gate, Art gallery, statue of King Bhuptindra Malla, Fifty five Windowed Malla palace, Nyatpole temple and other historical monument. The Golden Gate was erected by King Ranjit Malla as the entrance to the main courtyard of the Fifty-five Window Palace. The Palace of Fifty-five Windows was built during the reign of King Yakshya Malla in 1427 A.D.and was re-modelled by King Bhupatindra Malla in the 17th Century. The Art Gallery has a fascinating collection of ancient manuscripts, thangkas, centuries-old stone sculpture, antique paintings that belong to the Hindu and Buddhist traditions of various periods. Drive back to hotel.

DAY 03: Kathmandu Nepal Tour -Nagarkot
After breakfast visiting the 2000 years old Swoyambhunath stupa, (UNESCO World heritage site in 1979) sometimes also known as the monkey temple .The temple charms with its great dazzling stupa, while at the same time offers a marvellous view of Kathmandu Valley. After Swoyambhunath stupa we will proceed to Nagarkot which is at a height of 2300 m above sea level. Its commands a classic panorama of the Himalayan ranges. You can see from here many major peaks of the Himalayas, like Langtang, Langtang-lirung, Chobha bhamre, Amadablam, Dorje Lhakpa, Gaurishankar and many peaks of the Himalaya, including Mount Everest on a clear day. From here you can catch excellent view of sunset & sunrise. Nagarkot is a famous place to see the mountain ranges and sunrise. It lies at an altitude of 2211m and is located 30 km north east of Kathmandu. If weather is good, one can see great views of Himalayas including Annapurna, Langtang, Dorje Lakpa and Gauri Shanker, Ganesh Himal. The mountain flight that goes each day to show Everest and other Himalayas from Kathmandu goes via the Nagarkot route. Overnight stay in hotel.

DAY 04: Nepal Nagarkot-Sankhu (Soft trek)
After breakfast Hike to Sankhu. Sankhu is a very old Newar city and lies 23 km from Kathmandu. It derives its name from Sankhapura, which means Conch City. It lies on the famous route to Tibet. The traders used this route from 7th to 9th centuries AD. This legendary city is worth a visit, because of its old houses, beautiful wood- carved temples and old stone water taps. The famous temple of Goddess Ugratara Bajrayogini is situated at a 45 minute walking distance from here. The Goddess Bajrayogini is the Hindu – Buddhist parallel manifestation of Goddess Kali.
